Each group is assigned a different landmark privacy case of the Supreme Court:
Dru, Susannah, Will -- Roe v. Wade (1973)
Georgia, Philip, Kirsten -- Eisenstadt v. Baird (1972)
Samantha, Madeline, Tristan -- Bowers v. Hardwick (1986)
Hannah, Siobhan, Ben, Erin -- Lawrence v. Texas (2003)
Research your case. Go to www.oyez.org to find summaries of each case. When you are on the page for your case, click on the "Written Opinion" link (under media). At least read the Opinion of the Court.
The post (but others in each group should be thinking about their own answers to these questions as they read the case):
Comment on the specific details of your case. What assumptions about privacy are being made here? Where in your case does "privacy" become an issue? In what ways does your case build (or detract) from the penumbra of rights that create a zone of privacy as outlined in the Opinion of the Court in Griswold? (Or, does your case view privacy in a fashion more in line with a concurring or dissenting opinion from Griswold?)
